Our History
Recordkeeping Innovation was founded in 2003, following the successful amalgamation of Recordkeeping Systems and Provenance Consulting Services. The increased resources resulting from the merger allow us to focus on delivering training and the development of industry standards.
Established in 1993, Provenance Consulting Services successfully completed major projects for over 100 client organisations around Australia with a reputation for high quality, long term and cost effective records solutions. A large proportion of our business was repeat business from satisfied customers.
Formed in 1994 Recordkeeping Systems specialised in recordkeeping strategies for both electronic and traditional records, and archives administration establishing a leadership position on a number of key industry and professional standards, including:
- AS4390, Records Management
- ISO 15489 International Standard for Records Management,
- AS 5044, AGLS Resource Discovery Standard,
- Recordkeeping Metadata standards and
- strategic policy for electronic recordkeeping implementation for a number of large clients.

Barbara Reed, Director
(MA Hons, BA Hons, Grad.Dip Archives Admin; Assoc Mbr of RMAA; Fellow and Prof.Mbr of ASA; Mbr of ACA,SAA)Barbara Reed is a recognised industry leader with more than 20 years practical experience in consulting, working in collaboration with information technology specialists and management consultants. Her consulting experience includes Federal, State and local government, small business, international corporations, statutory authorities and professional associations. Previously Director of Recordkeeping Systems. Barbara´s academic contributions as Senior Lecturer and research associate through Monash University are highly acknowledged. Barbara develops and delivers professional and continuing education level training courses around Australia and overseas.

Kerry Gordon, Director
(Grad.Dip Archives Admin; Master Information Management and Systems; Prof.Mbr of ASA; Assoc Mbr of RMAA)Kerry Gordon has more than 15 years experience as a consultant. She has designed and implemented records systems in government organisations at Federal, State and local government levels, for corporations, professional associations, non-profit organisations and universities. Kerry developed NSW Keyword for Councils and GDA 10 for Local Government. Kerry delivers training courses in all aspects of records management.
