Classification and retention rules for records
Aboriginal Affairs NSW engaged Recordkeeping Innovation to support the refresh of their records and information framework. This involved understanding their complex legal and regulatory framework, working with users to implement a complex structure, with access sensitivities, but in a user friendly, simple to use way.
We developed a records retention and disposal authority and successfully negotiated through the approval process, including incorporating the feedback from a number of external stakeholders.
Our records management consultants delivered training and supported staff to implement the software to provide automated disposal on records creation. Working remotely, we were able to sentence 25% of their records using the tools we developed and implemented a sentence on creation process that achieved significant productivity savings.
