The Department was created as an amalgamation of the former Department of Sport and Recreation, Office of Liquor and Gaming, Arts NSW and the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust. The former agencies had a variety of different systems and versions of software applications that needed to be consolidated and moved to a single platform. Objective was selected to provide the electronic records application.
Our consultants worked with the records teams in each agency to identify priorities, develop customisation and document business processes for automation. We worked with the vendor to identify and meet user requirements, including the integration with the whole of government licensing system for charities. We were responsible for negotiations between users and the vendors, managing expectations and devising implementation schedules.
Our consultants brief was extended beyond the recordkeeping processes to negotiate a shared corporate standard for approval processes, corporate communication, levels of delegated authority and business processes associated with external communication. The Department operates in a highly sensitive political environment, with numerous stakeholders, so consistency and accountability based on timely and accurate information in its dealings with clients was crucial.
