YWCA Sydney

Archive collection project
In 2018 the YWCA Sydney joined with other YWCAs across Australia to become a united, national organisation. The history of the Sydney and other NSW branches was documented in the minutes of meetings, publications and archives of its many projects and programs for young women. Recordkeeping Innovation provided hands on support and guidance to volunteers to sort, box and list the archives. The archives were transferred to the Mitchell Library collection and the listings uploaded to the catalogue, making the collection searchable. Like many organisations with such a long history, there was keen interest from staff and members. The records are now safely preserved. Highlights and images from the YWCA’s history can be found on their website.
